Kroger REWARDS Prepaid Visa / Mastercard

Looking for the advantages that a Visa or Mastercard can offer, without the dangerous overspending can bring? The Kroger REWARDS Prepaid Visa or Mastercard card couples all the perks of a rewards credit product into a reloadable prepaid card. It is like having a debit card with a ton of added benefits!

In fact, the prepaid Visa or Mastercard is accepted anywhere debit cards are taken, plus, it provides a solid “welcome bonus” when you set up the direct deposit function. Access your money that much faster by organizing direct deposit on the account, and gain access to an extra $10 on your reloadable prepaid Visa or Mastercard. You can set this feature up with government benefit (or other recurring) checks, tax refunds, and your paycheck. The $10 will be deposited on the prepaid card after that first direct deposit clears into your account.

There are other added benefits to this card, as well. Reloading money to your prepaid Visa or Mastercard is a snap, and you can do so in many ways. First off, you can use cash by simply bringing your card (plus the money) to a Kroger’s checkout lane and ask an associate to place the funds directly onto your account. The money is immediately there for you to use, and a fee of $3 is charged per reload is charged. You can also load the card for free via direct deposit from your paycheck of up to $5,000; however, maximum card limits and fees may apply.

Added ways to reload your card include transferring money from a bank account, via electronic funds transfer through a wide variety of financial institutions, credit unions, and banks. You can even reload funds from your PayPal account or mobile device through the Ingo Money app (fees might apply).

While the Kroger REWARDS Reloadable Prepaid Visa or Mastercard has no overdraft fees (and you cannot spend over your balance), there are some added fees that you should be aware of. There is a monthly maintenance cost of $4.95, and a cash reloads fee through Visa Readylink that varies from retailer to retailer. The cash reloads fee through the ReCharge Card is $3, while the cash reloads fee for Mastercard rePower is $4.95.

ATM withdrawal fees include $2.50 per withdrawal for in-network and international machines, and an ATM balance inquiry costs $0.50, each time you choose this feature. International transaction fees come to 3% of the transaction amount, and if you lose your card, you have to pay $3 per replacement, with a potential $15 “expedited delivery” fee (if you really need the card sent to you right away!)

With that said, the Kroger Reloadable Prepaid Visa or Mastercard offers you security, knowing that you will not be held accountable for unauthorized charges. It also helps you stay on track, with access to view your account online, 24/7. Lastly, you can use the card anywhere across the globe, at retailers that accept either Visa or Mastercard.
